Nevaeh decided to finish off his sentence. “I...see...” All she wanted to hear from him was how he cared and how he loved her. He had hurt Revion, tried to protect her, but she wanted to hear it from him; it didn’t look like that was going to happen. The awkward silence consumed the both of them as Nevaeh stood looking over to him, her face conveying no emotion. She stood there for a moment longer before turning around and walking off into the Forrest, she would take the long way back to the camp. It would give her time to think things over. Weaving in and out of the thin trees Nevaeh had decided on what she would do, to show she wanted to see him but also find out if he wanted her still. She had made her way back to the camp by sunrise, lying in Alyan’s tent she was relieved to see that Revion had returned to his own. She didn’t go to sleep straight away; instead she sat cross legged on the floor and unfolded a piece of parchment. She stared at the empty page for a while unsure of what to write. It had to be an hour later before she had decided to keep it simple:

If you love me, you will stop me, you won’t let me go.

Rolling it up into a scroll Nevaeh tied up the piece of parchment with a piece of the white ribbon from the wedding. Hanging bell off the ribbon Nevaeh fell backwards and closed her eyes; she would get it sent to him later in the day, but now was time to sleep. After tossing and turning for a while Nevaeh fell asleep and slept all the way to the evening. Picking up the letter Nevaeh found Locien and slammed it into his chest. “Give this to Theanos, you look inside and I’ll gut you, just give it to him and don’t say anything.” Locien, a little taken off guard took the scroll and began to walk towards the castle.

Finding Revion she saw his bandaged arm and felt terrible. She walked up to him slowly, wrapping her arms around his waist gently, closing her eyes. “Are you still coming back with me tomorrow?” He asked softly, worried that the night before had ruined his chances, but Nevaeh stayed silent and nodded to Revion, she would be leaving in the morning.

Theanos watched as she walked away. A single tear rolled down from his eye, across the tattoo and onto his chest.

Theanos found himself in his tent. He refused to stay in the castle, as Elayahi and Akylan were there, and also, it held too many memories. He lay down on the floor, listening to the sound of his own breathing. He jumped a little when he heard the cough at the door. He looked up to see Locien tentitively standing at the door. He laid back down again. 'Storm's coming.' he said to the elven brother. 'Indeed...' he replied, coming in 'Um, Nevaeh told me to give you this...' he held out the parchement towards the prince, who just lay there and did nothing. He dropped his arm again. 'Did you... did you break Revion's arm?' he asked shakily. 'Yes.' Theanos replied. 'You really love her don't you?' 'Yes.' There was a silent pause. 'They're leaving tomorrow, twilight.' another pause 'Its going to rain.' Locien looked down at him with sympathetic eyes, setting down the rolled parchement on the floor next to him and leaving the tent.

As Locien walked away, he thought about what he had seen. He should have helped him heal the wound on his arm. Somethign else startled him about the Lycan's appearance, not looking where he was going, the elven man found himself on thefloor after walking into his sister. 'Oh, Nevaeh, you can answer this... has anyone apart from Alyan tried to kill Theanos recently?...No...hmm... then it must have been him...' he snapped back to look at his sister 'what? Oh, yes, there's a particularly nasty rope-burn on the Prince's neck. Must have been Alyan...' he trailed off 'Well, see you later, i have to go pack.' he walked off.

Alyan was sat around the fire with a few of his old friends from his hometown, reminiscing about old times.

“Rope burn?” She said to her softly, when she had seen him last night it was too dark to see much at all. She had been trying to avoid looking at Theanos for a while now, she hadn’t seen it. As Locien walked away she raised an eyebrow, it wasn’t like him to get snappy and sarcastic. As he mentioned packing, Nevaeh frowned, she didn’t have anything to pack, she had kept her possessions incredibly light, with the clothes on her back, her old guard uniform and her bow and arrows. She didn’t think that she would ever need more than that. She hadn’t seen any sign of Theanos, Nevaeh hadn’t specified when to stop her from leaving and wondered why he hadn’t already come to see her. She began to think that he really didn’t love her anymore and that he really didn’t mind to see her leave and spend the rest of her life trapped with a smarmy git. Nevaeh sat in her tent and sighed heavily, she thought about his neck and wondered how he had done it, she hoped that it wasn’t what first came to mind. Laying back she didn’t have much to do now but wait and see.

Next morning there wasn’t much of the camp left, people had taken down their tents and packed everything away, the long clearing seemed larger and allot emptier and by the afternoon the place was completely empty, dark storm clouds hung over them it looked like in any minute the heavens were about to open up and drown the kingdom. Nevaeh would have quite liked that. She still hadn’t seen Theanos and had just about given up all hope, they were to set off soon and then that would be that she would return to a life of absent minded normality. Finding Revion they watched the first few groups of people begin to walk off into the first few specks of rain, she looked all around her but still couldn’t see him, she wasn’t going to leave until the very last possible moment, she was hold out for him. Then the rain came, the rain poured down heavily, hitting the forest leaves with a great force, Nevaeh didn’t mind getting wet. Still looking for Theanos Revion interrupted. “If he cared about you at all, he would have been here hours ago, come on, you will get ill if we carry on standing here.” She nodded and began to walked down the path with Revion, feeling defeated.

His laboured breaths. His burning muscles. The noise of his feet on the ground. The rolling thunder. The driving rain. The pounding of his heart.

Theanos ran for his life through the empty long-grassed fields of the castle grounds.

He had waited until the last possible moment to open her letter. He was alone, inside the deep forest, far away from her. He only imagined what was in the letter. More angered sentiments, or maybe words of regret and grief now that she was leaving with Revion. He knew they were leaving, and waited for her to go before opening the letter. He cut the ribbon, the small siler bell falling to the floor. The paper fell out of his hands, dropping into the grass as he began to run.

He was miles away, the odds were against him. He would never make it in time and she would be gone forever. It was all his fault and he could have killed himself for letting her go.

Theanos ran for his life through the empty long-grassed fields of the castle grounds. His clothes were sodden, his white shirt stuck to his chest, his bare feet arnd trouser bottoms caked in cold mud. He couldn't see anything through the rain, there were a few stragglers left behind, he couldn't see their faces. 'Nevaeh!' he screamed, running harder, all the muscles in his body screaming in pain, his heart, pumping through his chest.

Nevaeh looked towards the floor; she had hoped that he would have come to at least say goodbye to her, looking up to the castle all that she had done and suffered through did feel like nothing now that she didn’t have Theanos by her side. Revion looked down to her and knew what she was thinking; he knew that she still loved him, a Lycan. Nevaeh was always different; she wasn’t like all the other elven girls, that’s why he had adored her from young age, she didn’t conform to the regular stereotype of wide eyes and gentle laughter. No Nevaeh was aggressive, intelligent and accurate; but at the same time undeniably feminine. He knew she would never his one hundred percent. She had fallen in love just as he had with her. If they did go back to their home town he knew that it would only be a matter of time before she went off, desperate to find him. Revion wouldn’t ever stop her; he loved her too much to keep her caged up.

Nevaeh was reaching the end of the woods, the rain had soaked the pair of them through, and she had gone numb from the cold, her hair pushed off of her face exposing her tired face. Tired of everything. Looking back for the final time, Nevaeh could see something moving back near the castle, she winced, it was just rain, she was seeing things. Then she heard her name being called out. Her eyes widened, Nevaeh dropped the tent off of her shoulders and she began to run as fast as she could back up the muddy path. Her heart was in her throat, the sounds of heavy rain blocked out by the deafening sound of her blood pumping. It had to be him. Her vision cleared and there he was running towards her. Nevaeh’s face lit up unimaginably as she jumped up to Theanos, her legs around his waist, her arms against his shoulders, she was mindful of his neck. Knocking him to the floor Nevaeh had missed the taste of his lips, kissing him passionately tears streamed down her face, disguised as the rain.

Theanos' heart stopped when he saw her, letting out a desperate whisper of her name. They collided, her cold body against his burning one, the impact knocked the breath out of him, but his breath was taken away by her even more so. He held her so tightly he thought she would break, every part of him longed for her, and now he had her, her couldn't get enough. He ran his hands through her sodden hair, kissing her wildly. 'I love you.' he moaned, between gasps for air. He rolled over onto her, kissing her neck and her cheek and her lips. 'Never, leave me again...' he said, his tears mixing withthe fresh rain as it poared on top of them both, falling from the sky as a blessing on the city.

The pouring rain, their passionate embrace reminded her all too much of when they were in the forests a while ago, when Elayahi and Alyan had just joined them on their journey to the castle. She had felt so deprived, her week and a bit away from Theanos and now he was here, she couldn’t keep her hands off of him. “I love you too.” She sighed, the rain isolating them from the world. She kissed him softly; squeezing him tightly, she wasn’t ever going to let him go. She pulled back from him for a moment, just wanting to look up into his dark brown eyes that she had missed so much. Caressing his cheek Nevaeh smiled weakly, the rain running down his hair and onto her, not that getting wet mattered anymore. She leant up to kiss him again and smiled “I’m never going anywhere, I love you”

Theanos sat up. 'Come on... you're going to freeze...' he said, pulling her up onto her feet and into him for another kiss. He couldn't Revion, but couldn't help feeling sorry for the guy. This sympathy was shotlived when he noticed a bruise on Nevaeh's arm. 'Did he do that to you?' He asked her threateningly. 'No-one is ever going to hurt you again...' he whispered, leading her back to the castle. She needed a warm bath, and an actual bed to sleep in instead of a tree or the ground. He took her up to his floor. The bathroom was grand, the brass footed bath in the centre of the room. He heated up the water himself and poared it into the metal bath. Pulling off his shirt, he walked over to her, to undress her. 'You're cold.' he said lightly, touching her pale blue skin. He was slightly colder than usual aswell. He undressed, hugging her tightly, leaning his head into the nape of her neck. He kissed her collar bone and sat with her on him in the bath. He washed her hair for her, kissing her cheek every so often. They didn't need to speak, nothing needed to be said.

Walking up towards the castle, Nevaeh held Theanos’ hand softly, she looked up to him, so happy he had come back for her; she was never going to say a harsh word against him, she knew he really cared for her, as he did for him. Walking up the winding stairs the pair left a water trail behind them leading all the way up to Theanos’ floor of the castle, it had to be at least triple the size of her house if not more. She could understand why he was used to the finer things in life. Walking into his bathroom she had never seen a room dedicated to washing so extravagant. As Theanos helped her remove her clothes Nevaeh blushed a little, Sat on his lap in the bath Nevaeh leant into him, closing her eyes as she leant against his chest. She couldn’t imagine having to walk back into the rain with Revion, she felt terrible for him but knew he would be able to woo someone in the village; he had done it many times before. She ran a finger in a small circle around along his chest, she could have sat there until the water froze over.

Theanos leaned his head back over the edge of the bath, hissing as the metal touched his neck. It was saw, and the last thing he wanted was to aggrivate it more by getting it wet. He closed his eyes, totally aware of everything around him. The silence apart from the slow movement of water as Nevaeh shuffled herself slightly. He was aware of the smell of clean water, something Lycans were very sensitive to. He could feel her soft skin against his rough scars on his shoulder, he could feel her thighs on the inside of his, his heart beating against her back. She turned on her side, he did the same so he was facing her. SHe touched his chest, drawing small circles on it lightly with her finger. He shivered, not from the cold, but from the intensity of having her touch him again. He opened his eyes, looking down at her with them. 'The water's getting cold.' he said, more of a statement rather than something that was going to lead on from it. He sighed. 'Maybe we should go dry off.' he said again, not moving. After a while, he changed that. 'Come on.' he said, pulling himself up out of the bath and onto the cold tiles again. He walked over to a wicker basket and pulled out an overly large towel for them both. He draped it over their shoulders and opened the door, walking along the coridoor into his insanely large room. His four poster wooden carved bed was at the end of the room, draped in lavish deep red curtains. There was a bookshelf laden with books and a desk, where he used to do all his laborious work on. He walked her over to the dresser, pulling out one of his white shirts for her. He put it on her, and it was far too large. He laughed lightly. He pulled out a pair of underhsorts for himself and pulled them on, leading her over to his bed and laying down with her on it. His neck throbbed as the cold air hit it, but he didnt care. He brushed Nevaeh's hair away from her face before putting a hand on her chin and tilting her head up to kiss her lightly. He pulled away again and laid back. Before this all started, he was the only Graddeoan brother without a scar on him, and now...

Re: Conspiracy - a three part tale.

Nevaeh’s fingers shook a little as the water temperature dropped, but just lying with Theanos was enough for her not to notice the water at all. 'The water's getting cold.' Nevaeh nodded “It is.” She didn’t move either, she felt no need to. Closing her eyes again, her breathing now in time with Theanos’, her head resting against his chest, she smiled to the sound of his heart beat, and could feel the vibrations through his chest as he spoke again 'Maybe we should go dry off.' Nevaeh nodded again “Yes, maybe we should.” But she didn’t plan on moving for a while still. As she slightly moved her leg, the rippling of the water echoed throughout the whole room, she looked down to her arm noticing her skin had returned to its normal colouring, the sound of rain hitting the window was gentle, looking out across the kingdom, small flecks of light flickered fighting against the rain. Winter was coming soon. 'Come on.' Nevaeh nodded in agreement and stood out of the bath, water running down her body and catching the cool air running shivers down her spine. As Theanos wrapped the towel around the pair of them she relished the feeling of a soft towel, she had gotten used to bathing in the nearest river and drying by the air of the moon, this was a whole new luxurious feeling.

Slipping into Theanos’ shirt and laying next to him she also hadn’t felt the comfort of a bed in a while, looking over to Theanos, Nevaeh’s eyes gleamed with adoration for him, taking his hand she kissed each of his fingertips. Resting her head by him, Nevaeh began to feel her eyes grow heavy; she smiled and closed her eyes, whispering softly. “I love you.”

It was the middle of the night when Nevaeh was sharply awoken by the sound of thunder, the room lit up as lighting shot down not too far away, looking to her side Theanos was still asleep. Slipping out of the bed, she walked over to the window and leant against the window pain, watching the lightning and listening to the thunder. She had never through she would be sleeping in the castle before.

Theanos looked at her closed eyes. 'I know...' he replied. He watched her sleep for a while before dropping off himself.

The north hills. The best place to hide in my opinion. In winter though they're mercyless. I wouldn't even bother looking for anyone up there in winter. The snow is unbelieveable. If they're weak enough already, that would finish them off. You'll need a hell of a lot of furr if you do go up there though. Like a bloody eskimo. Of course, you an i'd be okay, Lycans and all. Some friekin mad elementals up there too. Don't want to cross them.

Theanos woke up, not finding Nevaeh next to him. He rolled over and spotted her by the window. Without telling her he was awake, he watched her for a while before lying on his back, tilting his head back and closing his eyes. 'Does it scare you... the thunder?' he listened to her answer, not saying anything to respond. 'Do I frighten you?' he paused. 'Are you... are you scared of me? Of what I am?'

Re: Conspiracy - a three part tale.

Post  Rosé on Mon Jun 28, 2010 6:56 am

A flash of lighting lit up as far as the eye could see, catching all of the raindrops transforming them into small beacons of light; a flash of lightning lit up Nevaeh’s face as she carefully watched the rain, engrossed in her thoughts. She knew her family would still be walking; they wouldn’t have tried to set up camp in the pouring rain. She wondered what would happen to them now; she wondered what would happen to her now. She had been a part of a rebellion alliance and wondered what her next chapter would be, looking over to Theanos Nevaeh smiled, he was perfect, but she wondered what would happen next, she couldn’t live in this castle, not with Andraisgloch disapproval of her. Looking back out onto the rain Nevaeh ran her hand along its handle, she wanted to feel the wind in her hair and the rain on her face, it was an exciting feeling. As she went to pushed down on the handle and open the window she heard Theanos.

Taking a sharp intake of breath Nevaeh let go of the handle and looked over to him, his eyes were closed. Looking out to a flash of lightning a deep rumble of lightning quickly followed. She felt the vibrations on the window pane. “It did, as a child, not anymore” She spoke softly, not wanting to wake him fully. 'Do I frighten you?' Nevaeh looked around to Theanos, 'Are you... are you scared of me? Of what I am?' Nevaeh didn’t answer but quietly padded over to Theanos, lying on bed again, she rested her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes she listened to the sound of his heartbeat.. “I don’t understand you, you don’t scare me.” Theanos had only ever scared her when he had raised his voice, or when he had lashed out; when he showed the force and unexpected brutality of a Lycan. She hadn’t known someone who could go from one extreme to the other before. “No... you do not scare me Theanos.” He didn’t flip from one extreme to another very often, but when he did, it did scare Nevaeh; the power he had.

Nevaeh basked in the silence for a while, she was sure that the sun would be rising soon. She slipped away from Theanos for a moment and turned on her side, looking out into the darkened room Nevaeh listened to the rain tapping against the window as her eyes grew heavy again, she didn’t fight it; instead she drifted back into a gentle sleep, the delicate rise and fall of her chest as she slept near silent under the low rumbles of thunder.

Theanos raised an arm and lauid it across his closed eyes. She laid her head over his scar as he listened to her trying to delude herself. He knew the answer already, her trying to convince herself by repeating herself over and over was just reitterating his point. Finally, she fell asleep, her little cold body contrasting with his hot one. He couldn't sleep. Not anymore. The lightning lit up the room with bursts of powerful electricity, casting demonic shadow's across Theen's body. He looked out into the storm, the lighting only reminding him of his childhood, where the electrical power was harnessed into shackles to contain him brutally.

He was still awake in the morning, so much so that he crept out of his bedroom, not waking Nevaeh first. He pulled on a loose-fitting white shirt and pushed up the sleeves, padding down the stone coridoors to the courtyard, his favourite place in the whole castle. There were rows of weapons on the walls but he came prepared with Faolan's sword, still stained with his father's blood. He un-sheathed it, waving it about magestically in the sunlight. There were already training dummies and targets out in place, asif someone had been training earlier on. With a roar, he attacked them, violently and with such force, it was a wonder he could still keep his skill.

Nevaeh awoke to the sound of clattering metal and sun warming her face. She sat up sleepily to and realised that the bed was unoccupied. She yawned , brushing the hair out of her face, slipping out of the large bed Nevaeh looked down to the shirt she was wearing and wondered where she had put her bag the night before, she must have left in the bathroom last night. Walking down the hall she tried to remember which room was the bathroom, after a few doors she had found the right one and sure enough her bag was by the door, soaked through. As she picked the bag up water dripped from underneath, Nevaeh groaned and dropped it back down again. She wouldn’t be able to wear anything from her bag now. Picking out some items of clothing she set them back in the bedroom on the window ledge, they should dry soon enough. In the mean time she sat on the floor cross legged and began to fiddle with her hair plaiting it back she used to have it when she was a guard, it was the only way she ever put her hair if it wasn’t down. As soon as her clothes dried Nevaeh got dressed and began to wander silently through the castle, trying to find Theanos. She could hear Theanos now, walking into the courtyard she stood in the shade and watched him for a while.

Theanos finished off his third soft dummy with sheer brutality, packed straw and cotton lining splaying all over the place. He turned, anger and adrenaline still bubbling in him, towards the wooden manikin bolted to the floor in the corner. He ran at it, growling and snarling viciously, hacking at the hard wood as if it were butter. Shards of wood flew out at him as he furociously slashed it, beads of sweat on his brow. It was almost frightening to watch the bestiality of it all. Suddenly Theen heard breathing behind him. He turned, holding the sword up at Nevaeh's neck. His face softened and he laughed lightly as she stood up and sheathed his sord again 'Oh sorry, didn't know it was you.' he looked down at her whislt wiping an arm across his fore-head 'need to keep in shape you know...' he said motioning limply back to the shattered training dummy's 'How's that new bow that the crippled blacksmith made you?' he said, trying to restrain the grin from his lips from his little joke. 'Try it out. Go get it and i'll set up the targets.' he looked down to his leg 'I hope those arrows are crapper than the last ones...' he grumbled, looking to the miniscule scar that was left on his leg.

Nevaeh held her breath as the sword was held at her neck, the edge only just brushed against her throat, it didn’t break her skin but left a small red mark. “Easy, easy...” She laughed a little as the sword was withdrawn from her and she could move towards the sun and the targets. “Don’t we all...” She half heartedly replied, eyeing up the targets, she looked around the courtyard and rolled her eyes. She knew she hadn’t practised or really had to use her bow in a long time but the courtyard still felt a little small to practise her archery; back in her village she had set up makeshift targets in a field, long range was key to Nevaeh. “The arrows?” She looked over to Theanos who was looking down at his leg and smirked. “Oh I don’t use my good arrows for practise; the arrows I make are to kill...or are to at least cause long term damage.” She pulled out an arrow and aimed at the middle target. “Say, how many archers guard this place.” She imagined there would be quite a few. Firing the arrow she smiled and walked up to the target, dead centre. She expected nothing less of herself.

Nevaeh fired round after round of arrows, giving herself less and less time to reload and aim, rapid fire was a handy skill if an enemy is closer than expected. Nevaeh began to lose interest; she wasn’t really finding a challenge out of this. “Theanos?” She called over to him “Could you do me a favour? Pick that target off of its stand and throw it as high as you can?” She stood back for a moment and watched Theanos pick up the target and throw the target. Nevaeh wasted no time in firing a quick round of arrows as it fell from the sky. Walking to the target as it hit the stone floor with a heavy thud Nevaeh inspected the arrows for a moment before turning away, displeased. “I really am out of practise...” The arrows were central on the target, but sporadically placed. Pulling them out and back into the small leather case she sighed. “I need to fight something real...” She laughed to herself approaching Theanos and setting back her bow. “At least one of us can still handle a weapon with skill...Say, have you seen Alyan? I know he is a newlywed but I haven’t seen him properly since the wedding.”

Theanos smirked 'How many? couple of hundred i suppose...' When Nevaeh called his name, he was a bit apprehensive as to what she was going to ask of him. He let out a sigh when it was only to ask for a throwing. He picked up the small wooden target and threw it high into the air, it masked the sun for a brief moment before plummeting back to earth. “I really am out of practise...” he looked to the target, didn't seem to bad to him. “I need to fight something real...” An idea popped into his head. 'Never mind about Alyan now, I have a fantastic idea, come with me...' he grabbed her hand and pulled her out of a little wooden door to the side of the courtyard out to a feild with long grass and scattered shrubbery and trees. To the right of them, was a bucket of arrow's and some strange garments. He picked up one of the padded chestplates and pulled it on whilst motioning to the bucket for her. 'Right. This is a game my brothers and I used to play all the time... pick out an arrow.' The arrow had a large materialed bulb where the point should have been. It was drenched in thick blue paint. 'Right, this way, you can get some moving target practice on a blundering idiot like me whilst having some fun...' Theen was destracted by something moving towards them. It was Elayahi and Alyan. He waved to them. Elly's face lit up as she saw what they were doing. 'Can we join in?' she shouted. Theen nodded. Alyan got suited up, the same as him as Elayahi produced a bucket of painted soft daggers. She was never the one for more powerful weaponry. 'Three... two... one... lets go!' The girls had to wait atleast a couple of minutes until the two males had a change to get far enough out into the field before they were hunted.

Nevaeh looked down to the inked arrow and let a little laugh slip, she had never heard of such a thing before. Looking back to the targets she had to admit it was a far more entertaining way to get some real life practise, without having to kill unnecessarily. The arrow was heavy but she didn’t see it as too much of a burden, she could put far more force behind the arrow without too much worry that it might veer off if caught by the wind. As Elayahi stood by her side Nevaeh looked over to her and grinned, it was one way to spend the morning. Giving the boys a chance to run off in the field Nevaeh looked at the dripping arrow and watched them gradually grow smaller. “This should be funny...” Running off into the field she wanted to get her brother first but he had vanished.

Alyan looked over to Theen as they ran off into field, “So, what are we actually doing?” He soon understood as he looked back up to see Nevaeh and Elayahi coming through the field. But Alyan had a plan, he dropped down in the long grass and laid there deadly silent. He began to feel vibrations on the floor, they weren’t very strong or heavy he looked up for a second as they stopped dead; only to be sent crashing down to the floor again grabbing his shoulder. “Argh!” Alyan rolled onto his back as Nevaeh came closer and laughed. “You’re meant to be a MOVING target, get up, stop whining and run off before Elayahi come over and gets you too...” Helping her brother up he looked at the ink mark on his shoulder “That hurt you know, you sure you need practise?” Nevaeh laughed and ran off and decided that she would have to get Theanos next, it would be cruel to send Alyan running and shoot him in the back; though even the thought made her laugh.

Theanos looked back to Alyan as he got a thrashing and laughed softly. Elayahi loved this game, but never got close enough to do any real damage. Sure she was well trained and skilled with throwing the daggers, but with ones that didn't peirce the flesh and just bounced off, she needed to be close. Theanos knew too well that he wasn't as quick as his elven counterparts, knowing this already from practicing on the servants when he was younger. But he was a Lycan, and therefore, although not used to being stalked, he was well trained in being quiet, in sulking around, not to mention his hearing was second to none. He had an idea, he didn't want to do it, but if it was sucsessful, they could both get proper training out of it. He hesitated, but stood from the tall grass. 'Nevaeh.' he caught her attention 'how well are you at hunting things you're afraid of?' That flash in his eye was never good, the gleam that could make you drop everyhting you were doing and fight for your life in an instant. He sat back down into the grass. 'Theanos Don't' Elayahi shouted out from somewhere, he laughed deeply, the sound reberverating off the valley walls and echoing back to them. He stripped off naked, knowing that he probably wouldn't find his clothes again. With that, he reformed, something he had been wanting to do for quite a while. His breathing was heavier, he could feel his own heartbeat in his chest and he was suddenly hotter as the energy pulsed round his now larger body.

Everything was enhanced, his hearing his his sight, his sixth sense. He could smell his sister's hesitance, Alyan's uncirtainty and Nevaeh's...

He couldn't wait any longer, stalking through the grass, he could hear her very heartbeat. His amber eyes could only see heat, everything was different for him now, but it was invigorating. He knew he was rustling the grass some, but didn't care as a low rumbling sound voiced itself in the pit of his chest, a growling barely audiable that turned into snarls as he circled the elves. He lifted himself from stalking low in the grass so he could be seen, his razor sharp teeth bared as he growled ferociously. 'Come on baby.' he said, his deep deamonic voice ripping from his throat and out into the cold air. 'Hit me.'

Nevaeh caught a flew glimpses of Theanos, she was sure he had seen her too. Standing lower in the tall grass Nevaeh stalked Theanos, breathing near silently as she crept through the grass, only the sound of the grass moving giving away her position. It almost seemed as if Theanos had disappeared, for a large creature, he could be extremely illusive when needed to be. Elayahi shouting out put Nevaeh off, nearly falling over. Taking a sharp breath in she continued to walk through the grass, now standing a little higher to see around, Alyan had stopped moving, looking over her shoulder. Nevaeh turned around 'Come on baby.' Nevaeh’s bow snapped into the direction of voice. 'Hit me.'
Alyan looked shocked and took a few steps back but Nevaeh stayed in position; that was what she had been taught to do on the first day of being a royal guard. Her heart was racing a mile a minute, her hand wavering a little but she stood her position, staring Theanos’ Lycan form in the eye. She tried to keep a stern demeanour, this was training and she had nothing to worry about but she couldn’t hold her nerve, a tinge of fear in her eye at the sight of Theanos in his Lycan form was enough to unsettle her, the look in his eye was simply enough.

Re: Conspiracy - a three part tale.

Post  Outrageous. on Fri Aug 13, 2010 2:09 am

Theanos growled loudly as the arrow whistled toward him, moving within a split second of impact and grabbing the weapon between his teeth, snapping it easily. He laughed deeply, cruelly. His voice sounded nothing like it did when in normal form. It was raw and hollow, like the sound of rusted metal being scraped together. He dropped the splintered arrow, tilting his head every which way whilst trying to remove splinters out of his tounge. He stopped at the sound of movement, turning his head slowly, a low rumbling escapig from his chest. He hadn't let really loose with his natural form since he met Mihewi.

He turned to see Alyan, noisily backing up through the grasses. Theanos' haunches lowered as he let out a bark which seemed to scare him even more to fall backward off his feet and into the grass. Theanos laughed again, taking the smallest step forward when...

An almost snow-white shewolf, both smaller and thinner than Theanos, her skin looking like drapery upon her bones, jumped out between the prince and the elf. She looked like she had never ran a day as natural in her life. Theen looked up to her eyes, recognising the lightly tinted pink eyes of his sister instantly and backing away slightly. Her teeth bared, hair on end, a visious growl potruding from her. 'Reform.' she hissed, lips curled. Theanos stood his ground, leading Elayahi to leap fro his neck, biting into it softly, but with intense grip. 'Reform NOW.' 'OKAY.' he barked back, sinking his teeth into her leg, causing her to let go with a whimper and reform with him. She stood lame for a moment, her leg obviously bitten into, but not harshly. Theanos had a fleshwound in his skin on his neck, but nothing more. They stood opposite eachother, a deathly silence before the younger of them turned away, breaking the eye contact to drop to the floor and see to her husband. Theanos was still alpha, but wouldn't be threatening Alyan any time soon.

'I'm sorry.' he said; brushing past Nevaeh. He had once again got carried away. It was not only his temper he had to learn to control, but that energy that he had repressed ever since he was a cub. He removed his guarding lazily as he pushed his way through the tall grass, angry with himself and not anyone else. He walked up the stairs and into the meetingroom, pushing open the doors forcefully, only to be greeted by a host of faces looking up to him. 'Ah, Prince Theanos. Nice of you to join us. Perhaps the meetign can now begin?' Theanos recognised every face, the council of the royal families often held their meetings in that room. He hadn't expected them there however. 'Of course. However, maybe I should be dressed in something more... appropriate.' He shut the doors behind him and walked off.

Inside the meeting room, Queen Andraisgloch stood 'Will you excuse me. My son is not yet... acustomed to such meetings.' she stood and left the room, following after her second child. 'Fa...Theanos.' He stopped, turning. 'You cannot simply run away.' she stated, catching up with him and taking his arm. 'You are next in line for the throne. You are a Prince of the Graddeoan family. You will dress and meet us back.' she turned and left him to dress.

Theanos returned to the room, dressed in his shirt still, but a black leather, cap-sleeved waistcoat, laced up the front with cords. his hair was still a mess as usual, but this time, a mangled looking golden crown upon his head. A ring of melted gold, messy almost it looked. However Theanos was never the one to be conventional. His crown was made by his exact orders. Fitted upon his head the light bounced off of it and made it look spectacularly threatening. He walked in the room, and sat down in his place next to his mother. The meeting began.

'What do you mean we need his signature, this is outrageous!' Theanos bellowed, slamming his fist on the table and standing. 'Prince Graddeoan will you please sit down.' Theanos slammed his fist on the table once more before sitting. 'It is law. Without his signature the slave trade cannot be ended and you can never be re-inherited into the Graddeoan family's line to the thrown.' Theanos growled deeply, Andraisgloch stepped in 'Surely gentlemen, we can come to some, arrangement...' Fahro Vey shook his head, the elder of the Fahro Centaur family. 'I'm afraid not Andrais. It must be done how it must be done.' Haave Enscavyn, second oldest prince of the elementals muttered under his breath 'of course, we must be wary if they are to be trusted. A signature is easily forged...' Theanos stood again 'Have something to say Haave?' the elemental stayed sat 'Well your family are hardly known for keeping the law are they? Or even in keeping their temper...' Theanos barked loudly 'You dare speak of my family like that' The other young man stood now, shouting himself 'How does it feel to have a brother brutally murdered? An eye for an eye.' A couple of centaurs jumped into action to restrain the Lycan prince from killing the elemental. 'HAAVE! This is hardly an acceptable way to behaive in a meeting of the Lords. How dare you bring up such a thing, as pertinant as it may be.' Leaser Enscavyn, the kind repromanded. Haave sat down again. 'Then it is settled. If the signature can be gained within four moons of the next full, we shall begin tradings. Meeting ajourned.' The men all set to leave the room.

Two hours after the meeting had ended, Theanos was just finishing up packing his small bag that he had once met Nevaeh with. He wondered where she was, he would have to say goodbye to her, it would be a long journey that he'd have to take alone. He couldn't imagine taking her with him, it was dangerous and cold where he was going. On second thinking, he thought it would be best to go without saying his goodbyes. His heart was breaking as it was. A tear rolled down his cheek; he roughly removed it with the back of his hand as he pulled the chord taught, closing the bag.

Re: Conspiracy - a three part tale.

Post  Rosé on Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:06 pm

Nevaeh flinched with each of Theanos’ movements. She had once thought of herself as a talented and to some extent fearless archer; she had always had her prejudices against Lycans after her past, but it seemed that even after all of the time she had spent with Theanos, even with all the love she had for him Nevaeh still couldn’t get past the brutality and sheer force that Theanos concealed. She looked down to the floor for a while as he reformed and walked past. Nothing had actually happened, no one had seriously gotten hurt, she was sure that Lycans like Theanos and Elayahi could cope with a few flesh wounds. But it still seemed like something had happened, for a while Nevaeh followed him back up through the swaying grass but she didn’t know what was the matter with him, nor did she want to aggravate him anymore. It seemed to be a talent of Nevaeh’s that she had recently realised; she could wind up Theanos in minutes, really get under his skin, if she wanted to.

Reaching the castle with Alyan by her side she watched him walk into a large room full of people, about to follow, Alyan put a hand to her shoulder. “It is a royal meeting, we cannot enter, come on lets go for a walk or something hmm?” Nevaeh reluctantly agreed and the two elves made their way through the corridors and courtyards, talking of their last year or so, reminiscing on childhood memories, their father and fallen brother. Their topic of conversation quickly changed however to the subject of where they were going next. “It seems I am to stay here Nev; no I am sure of it. I am married now; I cannot just go back to fighting at home, I doubt Elayahi would want to swap all of this for a small village town. I mean you can still go and see the world. Wasn’t that what you had always wanted to do? Find foreign lands and all of that?” Nevaeh sighed a little. “I did want that, but being with Theanos and seeing you and Elayahi being married made me re think all of this, I don’t know, I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.” Alyan laughed a little in an attempt to lighten the mood. “Well you let me know whatever happens, but I do think for now, you should get changed, those clothes of yours are still soaked through.” Nevaeh shrugged and laughed along.

Nevaeh then left her eldest brother to find his wife whilst she ascended the many flights of stairs back up to where Theanos had taken her the night before. She had liked that night, just being with Theanos where they were not in any danger or arguing, even the silence was lovely. She came to the corridor and walked into the large bathroom to gather the few things she had left and placed them into her bag. In truth all of her clothes had been soaked through and were still yet to dry, she pushed them all into the small bag of hers which unlike Theanos’ was as small as it looked. Nevaeh looked down the hall towards Theanos’ large bedroom and wondered if he was inside, she hadn’t seen him leave the room full of people but Alyan and herself had bed talking for a while now. Creeping down the hall she gently pushed the door open to find the room empty. Half hoping to find Theanos she sat on his bed with her bag and looked to the shirt of his she had worn wondering where Theanos had gone.

Theanos was on his own once more. Over his face, a new mask. One made of silver this time. It shimmered like liquid in the twilight sky, covering his eyes and nose. A black cloak shrouded his face however, looking like a shapeless shadow.

Theanos's heart was pounding against his chest. It pained him to leave Nevaeh, feeling like one of her arrows had ran him through. He hoped that she would understand what he had to do, why he had to leave them all. He had asked Elayahi to let Alyan travel with him. Despite how much prejudice they held toward eachother, Alyan had saved his life. Understandably however, she refused to let him leave unless she went with him. Theanos wouldn't allow that. He had no choice but to go alone.

The methodical drumming of the Cairnicoern's hooves on the hard earth and the beast's heavy breathign was all to be heard on the silent night.

On the bed, lay a letter. A letter adressed to Nevaeh.

I have to leave
I don't want to hurt you anymore
I might come back but the chances are at half point at this time
I love you with all my heart but where I am headed is too dangerous
If anything were to happen to you

the ink trailed off on the end of the torn page.

It would be easy to follow the tracks of the Cairnicoern that Theanos had taken, but he hadn't thought of that. He was thinking about nothing but Nevaeh.

Re: Conspiracy - a three part tale.

Post  Rosé on Thu Aug 19, 2010 7:50 am

Nevaeh leant into the large pillow now holding Theanos’ white shirt, tear stains along the right sleeve, the letter he had written on the floor beside her. Being so high up in the castle nobody had heard her pained cries reading his farewell note, the ink dripping down the page. For hours she didn’t leave Theanos’ bed instead she read and re read the smudged ink, trying to think where he had gone, she wasn’t going to let him go alone. Not if she had anything to do with it. Already Nevaeh was formulating how to get close to Theanos, follow him to wherever he deemed too dangerous for her. She didn’t leave that night, she was in no state to go anywhere but she sat up all night, thinking, planning and wondering.

Before the break of Dawn Nevaeh dressed and ran down the many flights of stairs to the courtyard to find guards training, there were few elves amongst the Lycans where she managed to persuade a few to take her down to armoury; after explaining her story to them they almost felt in debt. Surrounded by walls of weapons and armour Nevaeh quickly found what she was looking for. Taking a good few standard silver quarter tipped arrows she replace the old wooden ones she had carved. Rifling through the armour Nevaeh had almost given up hope when she found a female elven breastplate and wrist guards; they were unmarked and uncrested, the breast plate was a little big but she had no time to be fussy, Theanos could be miles upon miles away if she didn’t hurry. She didn’t leave any note for Alyan; she knew that he would understand where she had gone. Hair tightly pulled from her face Nevaeh fixed an Elven white gold mask across her face and jumped up upon one of the royal family’s many Cairnicoern where she rode off into the sun rise. If there had been time Nevaeh would have prepared more but she couldn’t risk losing Theanos.

It was late in the day before Nevaeh found any tracks of similar size to the Cairnicoern she was riding. A sense of panic and joy overwhelmed her. Looking towards the onward trail she powered along. For a while she considered going by foot, but that would risk getting into a situation she could not get out of easily, she would just have to find him on Cairnicoern back. The sun was heading down quickly, she would have to find him soon or set up camp under a slate of rock, feeling disheartened Nevaeh slowed down only to catch a glimmer of red light not too far away to her right. Going off of the trail Nevaeh armed herself in case it wasn’t Theanos and some rouge elemental. She soon saw it was him, lying on the ground close to the fire, he obviously hadn’t seem her just yet. Shooting an arrow into the fire embers flew up wildly into blackened sky; dancing to the floor again. Mask reflecting the deep orange and red light she walked closer to him, bow still by her side; just to be sure. If he hadn’t realised it was her yet Nevaeh didn’t want to be dog food. Wind blowing her blonde hair around behind her in its strict plait Nevaeh couldn’t help but smile behind her mask.
